Autumn makeup, 2013.

There are so many fall collections to choose from, but I like to choose a few standout products or shades from season's past. These are a few of my fall picks for 2013.

Smashbox
Smashbox Fade to Black collection

Black Gold Waterproof Shadow Liner $22. Black gold or a khaki gold shadow is very in trend this season. It's opulent and looks gorgeous with dark lips.
Be Legendary lipstick in Black Cherry $20

Chanel

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystere $59, Rouge Coco lipstick in Ballet Russe $34. Smokey and chic eyes never go out of fall style, and this lipstick is just deep enough.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Somptueuse $34. A rich jewel tone lip is beautiful when you want to go easy
on the eyes.

Dior

Dior Addict Exteme in Bonne Aventure $31.

Lancome

Lancome L'absolu Desir collection

MAC Cosmetics

MAC Retro Matte collection

Marc Jacobs Beauty

Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Lip Gel in Neo Noir, Surrender Dorothy, and Saboteur. $30

Mar Jacobs Style Eye Con in Starlet, $59

Urban Decay Moondust shadows, $20. I like the smokey dark green 'Zodiac' and the silvery purple 'Intergalactic'.

Sonia Kashuk Jewel of an Eye palette, $20. There is also a new Eye on Shimmer Neutral palette.

OPI San Francisco collection: Peace & Love & OPI

Zoya Satins collection: Claudine, Channing (top), Mason, Neve, Maria Luisa, and Giovanna. My favorites are Channing and Neve.

Jane Cosmetics revival

Remember Jane in the 90's? It was an array of colors and super cheap, with a lot of glitter and gloss to match. I had  a matte sky blue eyeshadow that was the color of Hard Candy 'Sky'. They left stores for awhile and now they're back in small Ulta displays. While it's not as cheap as it used to be, there are still a ton of colors in each product, from cream shadows to lip glosses. The line overall seems more grown up than in years past. The average consumer is more demanding than they used to be, so they've upped their game in the beauty industry. I bought a few eyeshadows just to test the new line and have to say I was impressed for the price of $8. That is about the same as you'd pay for other drugstore brands, only the typical drugstore shadow is dry, dusty, and hard as a brick. These are soft, smooth, pigmented, and I had no fallout with the shade Slate (a nice taupe), which I used with and without a primer. I was kind of let down to see there are no lipsticks, because at one time Jane had my signature shades in Kiss of Caramel and Browned Down Red. You can check out the entire Jane line here Jane Cosmetics.

Sonia Kashuk fall 2013 collection

I think SK cosmetics has evolved to be some of the best affordable cosmetics you can buy. I'm a huge fan of the Eye On Neutral all matte palette, so when I heard about the new collection for fall I was curious to check it out. There are palettes, nail polishes, bags, brushes, etc. What I was most interested in were the eyeshadows, though. I love fall colors and rich jewel tones in fashion and makeup, so this is right up my alley. What you see is what you get. These are all surprisingly buttery and pigmented, even without a primer. This formula reminds me of a cross between Lorac and Bare Minerals Ready shadows, it's quite soft but also long lasting. Brava, Sonia. There is a color for everyone, and even those beautiful neutral shimmers at the bottom. I recommend using this with other matte shades or the matte palette from SK to complete your eye makeup.

Sonia Kashuk Jewel of an Eye palette $16.99-$20, depending on your store or a sale.

Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral Shimmer palette $20. There is no link to purchase this online, for the time being. This might change as we get closer to fall.
